Anyone use ballistol? Looking for a cleaner/oiler combo.

I use it on the outside of my guns to wipe off anything or make the wood look nice. It works great, I don't use it on the inside of my rifle barrels though only because I don't want any lubricant in the rifle barrel. Pistols and shotguns I do in the barrel, action, entire gun pretty much. I really like it because it not too harsh and can be used on just about anything.

I use it mainly diluted with water to clean dirty brass when I don't have to do but a few and don't have time to tumble.
It's a decent all purpose cleaner lube product.

I use it as lubricant and rust protection only. I still use Hoppe's #9 as solvent, even though Ballistol is supposed to do both. Honestly, I think Hoppe's does a better job as a solvent... or maybe not "better" but faster acting at least.

Most times I run Hoppe's on the front of a boresnake and Ballistol on the back end. It is definitely a great lubricant, and worth every penny for that fact alone. I prefer the non-aerosol version, but I think that they're all the same formula anyways.

Buy some and see how you like it. Even if it doesn't do both jobs for you, I'm sure you'll be happy with it as a lubricant and rust inhibitor.

I picked up a bore snake today. Will try this method. #9 is good stuff. I just got tired of endless patches.

I like Butch's Bore Shine.

Smells pretty evil but it works every time.
