Rifle Face Lift !

Rifle Face Lift ! - 05/18/15 02:00 AM

Had this rifle built for my southpaw grandson to shoot 2 years ago and decided to get it a face lift for him.
This is the only pic that I can find of the rifle as it was built. Not a great pic but you get the idea.

Song dog in the snow.

Here it is after Fluting the bolt, adding the bolt knob, machining the firing pin shroud and a custom cerakote job.

He was all smiles when he saw it.

When you get our age it is more fun to Give to our young'uns than it is for ourselves. Mostly, what we do buy for ourselves, will someday be theirs anyway.

Great job on a great gun and GREAT caliber. Brass is easy to find too... king

APR did the work for me. I picked this one up as I dropped off the Bartlein barrel and LH 700 stainless action for him to build me a 26 Nosler.

Well I'm left eye dominate so I shoot left handed. That young man will inherit some nice southpaw rifles when this old man is gone. up

Robert at APR is a personal friend of mine. I've known him long before he opened his shop.
He appreciates nice hand made knives and I like nice rifles. When you shoot left handed like I do and want a specific caliber rifle that usually means having one built since most of the rifle companies aren't very lefty friendly when it comes to left hand rifle chambering choices.
