DPMS Oracle Rifle, 223 Rem/556NATO, 16in, Black, 30Rd (RFA3-OC) Found this gun for a whopping $550. Should pull the trigger or is it not worth it? Just looking for a fun lil gun. Target and some occasional nightime hog hunting. What say y'all?

I have one just like it, no problems with it at all.

What barrel profile is this? I wouldn't get a lite profile barrel. Get at least the standard/govt profile.

As long as it isn't lite profile, I'd say that's an excellent rifle for the money. I had a DPMS and it was very accurate til it heated up and then all bets were off. Dinner plate sized groups at 50 yards. But it was because of the lite profile barrel. Avoid that and you should be fine.

I believe it is the light contour barrel

Even if you but it and swap the barrel, it's a pretty good deal.

Mine would heat up if I fired 30-40 rounds in 10 minutes. If you're firing slower than that all the time, you'll be fine. But if you're firing that slow, you might as well buy a bolt action rifle. There's no point in an AR that can't maintain accuracy when fired at a reasonable semi-auto rate IMHO.

I wouldn't swap barrels on that gun if it were me. You'll never get your money back out of it when you sell.

I have an older one, A2 heavy barrel. Put a lot of rounds through it, no issues yet.
