How many of yall want to do a long range match?

Yup. Just got done with the hunting rifle match and I'm thinking about a long range match.

Come with your big boy pants on. Know your stuff from 7 yards to 800 yards. Unsupported, barricades, rooftop, accuracy and speed will be needed. The time limits shorter, and the targets farther away. I won't get as many shooters, so the entry fee would probably be more. I gotta do what I gotta do to keep the range running.

LOL! That's funny. That morning, you COULD see trace perfect. I see it sometimes, but Sat morning I could see the shine off the bullet and the vapor trail as it went down range and into the target. It was one of the few times I've seen it that clear.

I'm not near qualified to participate,(haven't taken your class yet) but I will definitely donate my time to RO and keep score!

Chad, I was spotting for Daniel and his dad yesterday and was seeing trace. When we broke for lunch I texted Judd "BEAUTIFUL TRACE!"

just a few .223, they were old. I wasn't planning on keeping them.


this being said, next match we should all pick up our brass for Jason's sake.

I don't know if it was picked up later but I saw some Lapua laying on the ground at one point.

Well, I would definitely have to practice. Since I have only shot to 300 yards in our matches and never past, it would be tough but it sounds like fun even if I couldn't hit anything. Guess I could give everyone a good chuckle.

Better schedule a day to come through the class. Things get dicey past 300 yards, and I want to keep bullets on the berm, at least. That's no slam on you, though.

I know I got all mine and the guy with me was shooting lapua and I am pretty sure he didn't leave it laying.

I am probably guilty of that one. My gas gun shoots it far from me and I don't reload so I didn't even think about it at the match.

The mud ate it.

I mainly noticed it at the 1st/2nd stage when I was helping a guy look for brass.

Did not take it as a slam at all. Just never an opportunity to shoot longer distances. Planning on setting up a day with you as soon as I get my barrel back and find some powder.

It's not as bad as you think. My wife handed me mine this past weekend. Other than feeling emasculated to the point where my ancestors would be ashamed of me, I'm no worse for ware today.

Oh yea, I'd like it if there were one. yall can count me in.

Your wife's azz whipping she put on over half the field Saturday made my wife want to shoot next year! I'm just glad I got to keep a shred of dignity placing above her, she could shoot!

I'll play; depending on the dates. I've got a house rented in Colorado in the late March/ early April timeframe, and one in Port-A the last week of April. I'll shoot so long as it doesn't interfere with that.

What's the buy-in?

I would like to shoot this one. April is a bit busy but if it could be a Sunday then I could more than likely shoot it. Towards the end of april would be best for me.

By the way 6.5 creed more is for chumps. Get you a 308 and be a real man

I'll take all the razzing ya got to dish out. Aint going 308 for this one. Mine is gonna be a Frankengun that shoots like a laser I tell ya! A laser! When I read what the 6.5 can do compared to the 308, it's a no brainier. I just hope I can convince my buddy to hook me up with some 139 or 140's he has stocked away for a rainy day.
