540 yard soft tissue. Love winter wheat fields!

Killed a hog out there two days ago, and was 200 from it. This morning I hit a coyote eating the hog from 343 yards. This evening I set up hill and ranged the dead hog at 540. About 20 minutes later this coyote came out. Gettin busy around my place. Love me some winter wheat! Business is picking up!

Coyote was hit, fell, got up, walked 16 yards to the right, fell dead, hog wouldn't fit in the scope.

And I am not awesome. Post your through the scope pics from outside a quarter mile SUCKA!

The winter wheat on our place has been good to me also. I have to look out the back window of my blind now and then and if I'm lucky I'm rewarded with a nice view of a coyote who thinks he's sneaking across the field. A few have made it, but a few have not. The one I missed was the closest...go figure.

It seems the coyotes were WAY more interested in the cattle last year when they were cows-n-calves, but this year the land owner leased out to a steer operation. They completely screwed up the deer hunting and the coyotes don't seem to be near as interested.

3.5 Mils up, 6.0 Mils right of center = tan, dead coyote on a green wheat field.

Something to hunt 12 months a year.

162 A-max or 168 Berger...

I have some test loads made for the 154 SST. I'll give yall a range report in the next couple of weeks. If I can get the time to shoot them.

If I could find some more 162 A Max, that's what I'd be shooting full time. Kinda settled on 140's for now.

What stock did you chose for your LH tikka? I will be rebarreling mine very soon and the stock will be the next step.

I hunt everything surrounding my place. I had several shots on the range last week and the next day saw doeson the range. Still havnt decided if I'll be able to keep a deer herd around. Maybe they'll get used to it. I'm gonna build a foot plot for them and see what happens.

Idk about the deer. When I was out there did some shooting then walked down to the 800 and was looking back and two doe walked right by the firing line. Not to mention all the tracks. Don't seem to mind it too much.
