Made a heck of a trade..... I think

Gimme your opinions and school me a bit on my new rifle.
Made a trade yesterday my extremely average TC Encore (blued & wood) .22-250 with a 24" bull barrel
Traded it for a 95%+ remmy 700 SPS varmint 26" bull barrel chambered in 7mm08 wearing a nikon Buckmaster 3x9x40 with BDC reticle

Good trade?
Bad trade?

Tell me a bit about the new 7mm08

Decent trade. Not a fan of Remington rifles anymore, but they do shoot well. I had an SPS in 7mm-08 and it was a shooter. Sold it to another forum member here and he loves it. I like the 7mm-08 a LOT. Got a Tikka T3 in that caliber for my wife, she loves it and I'm seriously considering one for me. I like Nikon scopes as well. Put a Timney trigger in it if it doesn't already come equipped with one.

IMO you did good.

If the remington is the Dick's version (sounds like it may be), it pretty inexpensive new.

IDK about trade values but I like what you got better than what you had.

Like the TC better but both sound nice

Not much of a Remington fan, but think you did fine. At the end of the day, if your happy with the trade nothing else matter's.

The last Encore I had was wood and blued, chambered in 30-06, and had a Simmons scope. I gave $425. I'd say you did well.

Is that one of the Remington's that has a recall? If your happy that is what counts. I don't like them Remington's
