Heard ak47s are more reliable in the field is that true or just a myth?

I guess that would be true if your going mudding with the ak. Love my ar never had any issues and plenty of options for it on the market.
if your hunting hogs and deer go with 308 and get good quality glass dont buy cheap glass

The AK is a reliable weapon, but I could never own one or use the 7.62x39 round that our enemies use against us. That's just me.

It's not the gun....it's the enemy...but I get your point and respect it.

if by reliable you mean less accurate, terrible trigger, weird ergonomics, and horrid sights, I suppose that would be true.

AR-15 in 6.8 SPC is hard to beat.

Re: the big question - 12/15/14 04:27 PM

The only 7.62 I want is one of the little Yugo PAP m92's to play with. More of a toy than anything, but it is always nice when you can pick up a case of ammo for under $250.

That being said, I love my DDm4v1 and my blackout SBR.

I love my DDM4V1 as well - Mac - have you added anything to yours?

Yessir. I added a Geissele ssa-e trigger, Aimpoint PRO, Harris BRM-S, and a PWS FSC 556 brake. But if I shoot it now, its usually suppressed!

Re: the big question - 12/15/14 04:59 PM

I hear you on the Aimpoints. The PRO is hard to pass up at $400 BNIB and I'm going on 5 years with the original battery. Granted I turn it off when its in the safe, and it stays in the safe more and more these days.

My suppressor is an Allen Engineering AE30. Nobody really seems to know much about them, but they are awesome cans. My gunsmith told me about them when he built my 300WM. They are just a little on the heavy side (.5 oz lighter than the TigerShark), but the accuracy improvement and extremely minimal POI shift along with extremely good sound suppression is what I care about most. I primarily use it on my 300WM long range rig and my 300 blk SBR. The win mag is totally hearing safe with the can, running pretty hot loads with the 208 amax. The blackout with subs is silent, as expected.

Nice job taking this thread way off topic.

Boom, TRUTH!

hate them things!

AR15, take care of it, and it's as reliable as an AK-Junk-47....only WAY WAY WAY more accurate, WAY more fun to shoot, your finger doesn't feel like you smacked it with a 5lb sledge after shooting the first mag, etc etc etc.
