looking at a used beretta 390 silver mallard. Anyone hunt with one of these? How does it compare to the A300?

390 or 391?
If it's reasonable priced and in good condition then definitely buy it. It's a finer gun than the A300 in my opinion but they both put shot downrange.

It is a 391. According to the owner it only has had about 3 shells run through it. And it just sits in his safe. It appears to be almost brand new. $575.00 is the sell price. I've read that particular series (391) was a hit or miss one for beretta on the reliability side. With this particular gun having such little use that is my only reservation.

391's are the most common auto in clay shooting games, their reliability is one of those reasons.

Correction. This is a 390...not 391

I have one of the 390 Silver Mallards, it is one of my favorite guns to shoot. It is a very well made gun, superior to the A300.
