so I am wondering is this still a good time to hunt coyotes call for them.. I live in Abilene have two small places I can hunt.. kind of wondering if this time of year is still a decent time to hunt and call for them

Don't over call small places. Make sure you go when you have the advantage with light to no wind and darker moon phase. They can get call smart pretty quick. As already posted, you can have success any time of year but I've had much better success in the cooler months.

water holes later in the heat of summer especially if there are trees nearby

I have a small patch I hunt.. I try not to go back more than once a month. By then it seems they have either forgot, or a new yote moves in to fill the void.
