East of San Francisco there are large river marshes, good nutria habitat. California is likely to put restrictions and license fees on them like they have done with hogs.

Is there still a bounty in Texas on nutria?

To my knowledge there has never been a bounty on nutria in Texas. I believe some parishes in Louisiana do pay a bounty.

California will give them the right to vote (demon-crat of course) driver license and welfare checks.

I hunted those salt marshes for years....quite some time ago. Strange situations with the wardens and all. They deserve the infestation !

What Old Stony said " they deserve the infestation". I hope Negative Nancy lives in the area, or they migrate to her place for sanctuary.

They have a "Salt Marsh" mouse that lives near that area that is protected. If you develop a pool of water on your land the gov't takes charge to make sure none of the critters they have put on their endangered list is being put in danger. You pretty much have to have an environmental report done on your land to do anything with it that might be a problem for things like the "snail darter" minnow or the "Salt marsh" mouse.
There is no hope for the left coast !

I'd much rather have the nutria than what is currently invading Texas.

I'd love to shoot nutria in California, but the best way to do it is with shotgun and lead shot...however, as we all know, "lead, a chemical known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm"

Too bad, California. Enjoy your water rats.

cullbuck....They have similar hog problems there as well. That whole situation is a total mess as well as far as regulations etc...
