Just watched a hunting show where they were treeing cats using hounds. Anyone out there hunt them like this?

The show must have been CARNIVORE, as we are running two hunts this season using hounds on bobcats. We are hunting with PBR Bullfighter, Shorty Gorham. I almost hate to shoot a bobcat when one is called up as I would much rather hear a pack of hounds running it. If you have not experienced 10-20 dogs jumped and running in a thicket on a bobcat, you don't know what you are missing. It will make the hair stand up on the back of your neck. About the same feeling as walking into a tree when your dogs have a big lion sitting on a limb. Adios, Gary

Back in the day when you could safely run hounds, we would occasionally jump a big Bobcat Tom around the Convington and Blum areas. I trained with ferrel house cats so we didn't consider cats as being off game. Had one run us and our two hounds in circles all night long. Man those were great times.
They make ammo specifically for hunting for a reason!

I used to run cats with blackmouth cur dogs and treed quite a few of them. The last three bobcats that I've run with dogs I ran with beagles. The beagles jumped them out of briar patches where we were rabbit hunting and ran one to a tree, one I shot running and a third one got away. I'll keep my shotgun handy for cats more than for rabbits now when I hunt certain places.
