Made some pig pipes today and gonna set them out in a week and a half. Only took about 5 mins to make one and fairly inexpensive.

I had some pvc in the garage and I needed three pipes so that is why they are only 3 ft. I drilled six 1/2" holes in each.

You should only put 1 hole in each.. and be sure to fill some plastic bottles with corn and put them in there. one should be closed with a cap so the hogs keep thinking they will get more in vain

I put 1/2-3/4" rocks in mine to simulate corn.
I drill either one or two holes in mine, I do 3/8 and 7/16, a 1/2" hole is pretty big for corn. With 6 half inch holes and how short they are your gonna have to fill them at least once a week after the hogs find them. A couple of pigs will empty one of those in a night sometimes.

Also take the end off and let the glue fumes air out better until you fill them

As others mention, they look smaller than typical. I made two from a 10' section of PVC, each with three 3/8" holes. Once the hogs find them, they'll be completely empty in about 4-5 days. Of course, if you're able to check them and refill regularly, no problem!

If you find they're being emptied too quickly, you can always wrap a piece of duct tape around one or more of the holes to slow things down.

cheers Good point Rick... 2cents Years ago before the few hogs that started showing up, called them deer pipes , just didn't use the chains... Usedta fill em up with dirt, & rub the out side... Same as when spray painting the feeder pipes, helps take away the fumes... i got cheap posts... Cool pipes JP flag

I siliconed in 4 of the 6 holes, not to worried about them emptying them within a few days. Just an extra food source to keep them interested and running through. I've got a lot of hogs that pass through that don't hit the feeders and plan is to put these out along the trails. Thanks for all suggestions.

Checked out your website, looks pretty good. Would be a long drive for me though

cheers every one has different opinions on proper size, length, hole size & so on... to small of hole not enough corn & hogs leave... i check cam's once hog shows up, hand throw corn, leading to blind set up then pile bout 1/2 pail to full ice cream pail... it works just the same as pipe feeders two small of hole can plug up, just gotta find right combo... Best wishes... flag

Funny that you say that. My first hog bucket was an orange Home Depot one. I ran a 3/8" all-thread through it and bent the end in a loop for the chain to hook to. That didn't last. The first night the pigs straightened out that loop and my bucket was nowhere to be found. I thought it would be easy to find since it was orange. I found it accidentally several weeks later about 300 yards away in a creek bottom in a big mud hole. It was covered in mud with no orange showing, and not a grain of corn left in it. It weighed about 50 pounds full of mud.

I've been using hog logs for years and have lost only one, and that was because the eye-hook broke. I've used chain and half inch nylon line and neither has failed. I think your system will work just fine.

I made one out of a 55gal plastic barrel. Drill 1/4" holes on top and bottom - 4 total holes. When rolled it would only drop 1-3 kernels per hole. Drilled a 1" hole in the center of the lid. Put in eye bolt with the largest washers I could find. Used about 6' of chain with a 1ft loop at the end. Drove a T post down about 2.5ft and looped the chain around the T post. Added a 50lb bag of corn, a box of strawberry jello, and a few big rocks to keep the corn broken up.

Came back a week later and the corn was completely gone. Added more and the next week the pole was bent over at the ground and the barrel and chain was gone......Found it about 200yrds away in thick brush, empty. I figured the lid would break but haven't had any issues with it yet.

I thought about adding a cow bell to the bottom of it so that when its rolled, it would ring........then, when I hunted, I would bring another bell and ring it a few times to see what happens....Haven't done that yet....lol444
