Got a group of 20+ plus hogs coming in just about every night to a feeder (around 10:00 p.m.) so I called my older brother and told him he needs to 'load up' and head this way. He is 2.5 hrs South of me.
Its going to be HOT! I mean REALLY hot...! The sun is just going down and its still over 90 degrees. He should be here any minute...and we'll head to the woods. Got some wet hand towels in the refrigerator cooling off. We can put those around our necks for the walk to the stand. I have a 12 volt fan...once we get there, but its still going to be hot on a couple of old guys.
What the heck....we got hogs to kill, right?

Congratulation! It is hot this time of year. Hopefully it will begin to cool down soon.

Nice. I spent 5 hours in last night too and of course a no show after a week straight of coming in. It was miserable actually with zero wind 80% humidity. Congrats on the pork.

Way to stay with it...investing the wait time is the only way to get em sometimes.
The only thing missing from your misery is mosquitos! When you are sweating, the repellent washes right off making you a prime target!
It does seem to cool off a little after you drop the pork though!

Very well done!
I have a buddy that hunts near Fort Worth, every few days he texts to tell me it is too hot and that his pigs are going to grow big and fat until he can get to them in the Fall.

Didn't want to post too much last night because I suspected that another (or more) hog(s) had been hit. My older brother (no stranger to hog hunting) commented that he thought the hog he had targeted was 'bigger' than the one that dropped under the feeder at the shot. We made a short and cursory look about last night but did not find another hog. I went and pulled the card on the game camera early this morning...in hopes that it had captured the action. I run my cameras in video mode...and sure enough, at the shot two hogs went down. In fact the hog we recovered last night was number THREE in line. We found the first hog in line this morning, just 20 yards into the green-brier and brush, shot squarely though the heart. Stopping the video at certain spots, it appears three hogs were fairly lined up. I don't see how the second in line could have escaped being hit. The third in line was shot through the neck and dropped on the spot. The first in line fell but got back up and ran a short distance, though we could not see that last night. The hog in the middle (in the video) stumbles, turns 180° and runs out of the picture. We have yet to find it. Anyway, it was officially a 'two-fer', possibly a 'three-fer' but I can't confirm that yet. 168 Barnes VOR-TX bullet from a .308 @ 100 yds.

It does seem to cool off a little after you drop the pork though! To our amazement, the mosquitoes (normally present) did not cause us a problem. The hogs did their part and showed up right on time, so we ended up just having a nice visit while waiting on them.

Oh yeah, way to go! Getting a twofer is pretty good, three would definitely be a bonus. Keep after 'em! --
