All-
As I wait for my thermal to be delivered, I was thinking how I could best help my step son with a Photon XT "see" what I am with thermal.
Anyone ever add an IR Laser to the Weapon the Thermal is on so the NV guys can make quick aquisitions?

Yes sir and it makes it much easier for them to pick up the target and to know which one you are shooting at. Due to not seeing the laser with thermal secure the weapon with the thermal so that it will not move. Put the thermal sight cross hairs on something at the distance you sighted it in. Then using NV move the IR laser to that point.

I used a handheld thermal for a year while we had the N750 mounted to shoot, and I routinely would be behind the scope and my son was saying "it's over here" while I was constantly looking to no avail....
I added a green laser pointer to the side rail do the thermal handheld and that solved the problem. The green light showed up really well in the digiNVsight and he didn't have to tell me where to look. That didn't solve the problem of actually seeing what he was, but that's beside the point.
Another option would be to add a IR flashlight/torch to the armamentarium to use as a pointer. I found the green laser at 50 bucks was a good cheap solution.
