Hunt started out rough , walked about 2.5 miles never getting on a rabbit ..... Dang wasn't looking good , then we hit another spot an did a little better killed 4 , by now it was 11 an my brother said lets try one more spot ,

We got in there an were on them from the start , i took my ol single shot H & R that thing shoots pretty good , we hunted till around 3 an ended up with 6 more had plenty of misses an doc lost a few windy conditions an some crazy running rabbits

But all an all Doc is making a Rabbit dog ! An my brother is hooked haha

Total of 10 bunnies headed for the freezer

I wish we had known each other back in the 80's. We had some serious go getters. We ran 7 females and one male. That male was the best dog I've ever owned. Some of the girls were very good too. Back then we had a gentlemans rule...we breed our female to your male, you get your pick of the litter before anyone else, even the females owner. So when word got out about a good dog like yours, you could breed a few females and upgrade your kennel without spending a dime. Don't know that I'd fool with a field trial dog unless it's an SPO dog. They RUN, not WALK a track.
