I'm quite familiar with proper camo when hunting deer, turkey, etc during the daytime. I am looking to do varmint hunting at night including bobcat and coyote. Do I need to wear the same camo as in the day time or should I wear black, or otherwise? It may depend on the surroundings. Do I need to be concerned about head net and such like?

Thank you for any input offered, it is appreciated.

Play the wind and stay behind the light. Dark or camo. Anything that would break up an outline. Clothing not nearly as important as the wind and light work.

When I first started I thought wearing black was a good way to go. Not really. There will be nights like last night when the moon will make that black stand out..... think seeing a black hog or cow so now I mostly wear similar clothing that I wear in the day time.

+1

I tend to wear black only on nights with no moon or heavy cloud cover.

Aside from the advice given so far, I think a big issue is just staying still. I have run calls from the middle of a field where I was the only thing around above grass level. If you don't move much, you don't attract attention and are less apt to be perceived as as threat.

I just wear a gray hoodie and jeans. If it's real dark you can wear just about anything.. and stand in the middle of the field. When there's moon, I stay closer to the treeline.

I have two cats, one is black and the other gray and fuzzy. At night the black one can be seen but the gray is invisible. Being fuzzy long hair there is no distinct outline to the cat or it's shadow.
