Went hunting this morning for some late rut deer, saw a few young bucks, not what i was looking for. Was glassing some deer and I hear lots of howling and deer got spooked. A pack of 6 yotes came running out spread out from the brush chasing a doe and a yearling across the sendero, all the deer bolted. That really pizzes me off. It was almost time for me to head back to camp anyway, then a yote pops out lazily and eats some corn on the sendero. Yeah right, yote wants a free meal after spooking all that deer. I pull up my 7 Rem. Mag loaded with 160 Accubonds pushed with Retumbo, its a pretty warm load at 3,140 fps. Ranged and calibrated the NXS. Took aim at 280 yards at the shoulder and let her fly, and it dropped like lightning. Entry is where I aimed, and exit behind the shoulder. It was slightly quartered. First pic looks like I broke the back bone, its at an odd angle.

Mr. Yote learned that there is no such thing as a free lunch. Nice work.

Are you going to pull those pistols, or whistle Dixie?

I’m shooting a 7mag with 160accubonds as well. I’m using h1000 and the sweet spot velocity was 2980. At that velocity I can shoot a one hole group at 200y.

Have you tried the long range accubonds? I was tempted but the original is working just fine so I decided not to change anything. Nice post. Congrats
