Got a mutt that wandered up to my place half starved to death and he seemed like a good dog so i started feeding him and getting him back to health and all was good till i shot a coyote on my land and brought it back to the house to show the wife. Well the mutt came up and sniffed the dead yote and started barking and he hasnt stopped barking since! Spends all nite and then some and wont shut up no matter what i do. Im at the point of killing this dog or taking him to the pound. Anybody got any suggestions?

Bark collar.

Is there any part of the coyote still in your vehicle or on your property?
If so, he can smell it and will continue barking until the scent is gone. May need to wash the blood and hair out of your truck. Mine do the same thing if I leave carcasses in the truck over night. Once I get rid of them, it's life as normal.

I hate to say it but water hose wont work because he is often away from the house so 9mm may be my only choice. Will try to wash away the blood and see if that helps.

I bet that hound is glad that you picked him up. Nothing quite like trying to work out a problem.

Can dogs bark with a muzzle on? Use it when he starts, take it off and when he starts again, use it. Just an idea.

Next time bring back a live one. The poor mutt probably wanted companionship and got mad at you for killing it...
