Who has sent their money and entry form in for the Olton Pheasant Hunt?

They sold out of spots pretty early last year, so I mailed mine off the day I received the email packet...I don't want to miss out! (I also waited to post until my packet was in the mail peep

If you have not heard of it, it's a local fundraising deal that has gone on for many years in the TX Panhandle. You hunt on property donated by the locals...lots of CRP that does not get hunted expect for this event... guided by the local forks.

This will be my 4th or 5th year in a row and some of my buddies have been going over twice that long. They seed a liberal number of pen raised birds, but there are wild birds killed also. Local VFD, Ambulance Service, and 4H take turns serving the meals. It runs all day on Saturday and 1/2 day on Sunday. Friday night and Saturday after the hunt there is lot of great times had by fellow hunters (there might be a *few* drinks consumed also cheers.

If you've never been and it sounds interesting, shoot me an IM with your email address and I will forward the entry packet.

I have no connection with this hunt, other than a happy repeat customer. There are folks that bring their own dogs, and groups where the guides provide the dogs. Individual hunters all the way up to pretty good sized groups. They have a fixed number of spots, based upon the wild birds and how much land they will be allowed to hunt, so when its full, its full. It's Dec 3rd & 4th, to get first crack and the wild birds.

We all need to practice Whoa more.
