Got up this morning and went out to let the dogs run and clean pens and caught something out of the corner of my eye, two road runners less than twenty yards from the pens. Finished cleaning and went up on the patio to scratch some puppy ears for a minute and again something catches my eye, this time its two hummingbirds flying together. I'm guessing they were in some sort of mating thing as they seemed like they were chasing each other around a plum tree for a minute or so. Pretty neat, had green backs so if the National Geo show I saw was right they came up from Mexico.

Eat some breakfast and decided too go out front and mow some. Opened the garage door and went around the corner to the front and an old familiar sound hit my ears, a pair of quail flew out of some hedge bushes next to the house and land 50 feet out front in a brushy drainage ditch. Watched them walk into the neighbors yard and disappear. Big day at the hacienda.
