Kansas it is. So what region would be best to start my trip? I have some experience hunting pheasants in Montana, but I've never hunted kansas. It'll be a public land hunt the entire time.

Stop at any store and pick up a Walk In Hunting Area booklet. It shows all the WIHA's in the state. You can also look online at http://ksoutdoors.com/KDWPT-Info/Locatio...ap-of-Fall-WIHA

Here is the general site. http://ksoutdoors.com/

I'd go far NW but others are reporting good hunts SW

Kansas website has a ton of info. They have a bird forecast they put out in about September that shows where the birds are. Read it. It will point you in the right direction. One thing though, I read it the first time I went up there and so did a million other people. The city I hunted said that they had never seen so many people. So the area they say is best will have the most out of state hunters.

When are you going?

19th - 23rd. I was thinking around the Dodge city area to start out and then if I have to move from there I will. I'm not afraid to drive a couple hours in another direction to find good numbers if I have to.
