Needing recommendations on an English pointer breeder in Texas. We haven't had a pointer in years and I'm ready for one. Any thoughts or opinions are welcome. Thanks in advance!

Someone on this forum was looking for a stud to breed his female pointer to awhile back. You might search the gundog forum to see if you can find him.

No experience with them but Phantom kennels in Abilene is where I'd probably get a pup if I were in the market.

I think they are into horseback trailing.

Do you know the owner?

Had a nice pup from Phantom Kennels a couple of years ago and have a good friend with a 10 month old pup of theirs that he is killing birds over now. He really likes her. Believe she's out of a Phantom brood bit@h and Ch Rock Star Andy.

Best bird finder I've had in a while came from Yellow Rose so it's a toss up for me.

I do. Dan Hendrickson is a good guy. Honest as he can be.

My brother has a real promising pup out of chief kennels in anadarko. I don't know much about them, but she is plenty bold and taking to training really well. My dad has a deposit in with Harris kennels up in Kansas. We are all pretty sold on English pointers. None of the negative I ever heard about the breed seems to hold true with any of our dogs. If you're out of Amarillo ok or Kansas may be closer.

One of my most favorite dogs was sired by Yellow Rose Dan and out of a local bitch. He was all I was ever looking for in a pointer in spades. I'll be contacting YRK about a pup this spring.

I'm not too familiar with the lines. My dad's buddy had 20-30 pointers at a time back in the early 90's so we had a constant supply of puppies. They all hunted and they were all really good dogs.

No personal experience but here's another guy to check out. I think he's more hunter oriented.

Check out Caleden kennels. Guard Rail pointers. They like water, retrieve, have the best style point IMO. He is in North Carolina but shipping pups is the normal now

Have you ever seen a prettier point than the link I posted
