Leaving in the morning to go pheasant hunting. Should be a blast. Any tips?

Welcome to the forum. Good luck. Give us a report when you get back.

Take warm cloths, the wind will rip right through you, take plenty of pictures and post up with your report. Wish I was going with you.

Looks like cold and snow this weekend. Take lots of layers.

The birds should be sitting really tight. I bet you will have a great time limiting early and heading for the warm lodge!

If you are going on public land, go to the places no one else wants to hunt. Thick stuff and stuff far from the truck.
If you are going private, listen to the landowner or guide.

Either way pay attention to your dog.

Watch non-toxic shot requirements on public land.

We hunted in Gregory a month ago. The first day we averaged 7 shots pe bird. Second day it was 4 per bird and the third day we were down to 2 per bird. Made reservations for next year before we left.the weather was way better this time a month ago. Good luck. Tell us how you did.

Where did you go? Hunted with R&R a few times - great experience.

Send me a pm and let's compare notes. I hunted with Shattuck hunting in Gregory.
