I was taking a couple of new members on a guided hunt today and one asks if I know any quail hunting jokes. I admit I do not and I now ask the THF group if anyone knows some good quail hunting jokes. Thanks in advance for your considerations and willingness to share.

Know any Quail jokes hunting or other wise? I was taking a new group of members on a quail hunt today and one asks if I know any quail jokes, or any bird dog jokes. I have to admit I do not AND so now I am asking if anyone on here knows any of these jokes.

Here's an old one....

Elwood buys a "champion" bird dog from a very reputable trainer and breeder.
The trainer tells him "you're not going to believe how efficient this dog is in the field".

So first day out, they arrive at the field, Elwood gears up and then releases the dog from his kennel.
The dog immediately runs out into the field and returns a few minutes later, then barks five times.

Elwood follows him out, sure enough, five bird get up and he shoots two.

On the next field, dog runs out, returns and barks seven times.
They proceed out and find the seven birds. Elwood shoots two and they move to the next area.

This time when he releases the dog the dog comes back with a stick in his mouth. Instead of barking, he just shakes his head and drops the stick. Elwood asks "how many birds, boy?"
The dog picks up the stick, shakes his head and drops the stick.

Figuring that somehow the dog has lost his touch, Elwood returns to the trainer.
He tells him "the dog did great at first, he would enter the field, come back and bark, indicating how many birds he had found. But on the last field he lost it. He came back with a stick in his mouth, shook his head and dropped the stick, no bark at all."

The trainer says, "You dummy, he was trying to tell you that there were more birds out there than you could shake a stick at!"

My dogs qualify as a joke, and the handler qualifies as a joke or jerk.

Saturday morning I got up early, dressed quietly, made my lunch, grabbed the dog, slipped quietly into the garage to load my quail hunting gear into the truck, and proceeded to back out into a torrential down pour.

The wind was blowing 50 mph. I pulled back into the garage, turned on the radio, and discovered that the weather would be bad throughout the day.

I went back into the house, quietly undressed, and slipped back into bed. There I cuddled up to my wife's back, now with a different anticipation, and whispered, 'The weather out there is terrible.'

My loving wife of 20 yrs replied, 'Can you believe my stupid husband is out quail hunting in that crap?'

I still don't know to this day if she was joking, but I have stopped hunting.

Took 3 times and I only hit Harry once.
