The sunflower seeds are super small this year for some reason I wonder if from the lack of rain and all the extra heat

probably both...
Tx is in a drought..
especially w of I-35..
all crops here w of SA are stressed.. even irrigated stuff..
the big draw for dove this year is gonna be water..
a small tank w/bare dirt at edges is gonna be a hot-spot every evening
unless we get a lot of rain..
so far that's not likely

We have one of our top fields that we did all the necessary work in January and even fertilized and there is maybe 10% of the sunflowers there this year. Near Abilene. Not sure what happened.

Our lease near Graford has no sunflowers at all this year. Rancher said was due to the February ice storm and then the drought.

Ice storm in Feb wouldn't have done it, it would have helped, but the drought sure hurt things.

How’s everyone looking? Think there will still be lots of birds? I went out to the ranch (graham) a month ago and our sunflowers were small... I’ll go out next weekend to see and hopefully they grew a bit more
