If you hunt close to town, there are lots of white wings. They fly later in the morning than the mourning dove. Guys last year told us about all the white wings, and we almost had our limit on mourning doves without seeing a single white wing and then here the white wings came. I could of slept in and just hunted the white wings from about 9 am on. We were just outside of town not far from the Stripes.

I hunt Rule which is close to there. We don't have white wings. We do have those huge collard eurasion doves. I think that's what big ag is talking about. I don't think white wings are in that area much. At least I never seen them. There is no limit on the eurasions. I shot my share last season out there

We have some WW in Throckmortan and Seymour so there are bound to be a few in that area.

I hunted Rule last year and it was almost all whitewings. We were just south of the high school and they all came from town. Hunted Haskell too close to town and had my limit of mourning then the white wings came in huge flocks.

Wow I stand to be corrected. I've hunted that area 4 years and we have never killed one.
In my home town of Wimberley they are thick. I always figured they were south and central.

We are in for an amazing season this year. Here's to a great season!!

There's no dove in West Texas. Especially around Haskell/Hamlin/Rule/Stamford

White wings have moved up to that part of the state and for whatever reason white wings like to roost in towns. All tne towns in that area have them. I used to hunt down in Uvalde for years and fields just outside of town would be covered up with white wings. Go a little further out and it was all mourning doves.

White wing comment earlier very accurate have done the same before limited on a morning dove and then seeing White wingpouring in the fields. Had 100 acres in De Kalb years ago that was loaded w morning Dove. If you have grain and water- you will have Dove
