Since you all helped me so much last time I thought I'd try again!

I just rebuilt my lower unit (replaced the water pump and all the seals). The old pump was the original 1979 pump as far as I could tell. The impeller wasn't original of course. Anyways I had a heck of a time finding the right pump since numbers have changed multiple times over the years. The new model has no top seal on the pump like the old one does, but according to evinrude it's the replacement. After putting it all together I noticed a stream of water coming out the front of the exhaust housing that I was not getting previously. It's a hole that leads into the drive shaft tube. I'm getting good water from the pisser and the two exit holes at the top of the housing. Just never noticed this stream before. Is this normal?

You might be building back pressure between there and the pee hole. Might be an obstruction between the holes. Or right at the pee hole

Dang, ok thanks! I watched a video I recorded prior to the pump change ant it was spitting water out that same hole, but just kind of a spit instead of a stream. I will check my water line and see. I recently replaced the waterline going from the engine to the pee hole and it had a good stream when I was running it but I'll check again.

It's not at the pee hole. I removed the pee hole grommet an I'm getting lots of water coming out the hose.

Here is a video!
