My youngest has been showing a lot of interest this year. Every time I mention I'm going to the lease to do anything she beats me to the truck. She wanted to see her puppy hunt so I took her out and we shot a limit in 30 mins

That is really great Dad! Definitely take them out there. It is so much fun hunting with my daughter. See if she might be interested in learning shotgun. Just please don't let her shoot something like a youth 870. When that thing smacks her, and particularly her face, it will be a difficult flinch to break.

Get her some lessons from somebody who knows how to teach a young lady. Generally women should be taught a different support position for shotgun than men. Women tend to need to use more support from the hip.

Here we are weekend before last. She has become quite a good shot.

Anyway just trying to pass along some helpful stuff I learned.

If you can find one, get a gas operated semi-auto 20 ga. The Beretta youth is perfect. The Weatherby youth is a nice little gas gun but beware for most girls where the cheek is on the stock is not going to line up with the sight path down the barrel. The stock will need to be adjusted. Probably by more than the shims that come with the shotgun.
