Alright guys don't blow me up on this one. I have been recently looking to purchase a layout blind. I tried looking in the research bar with no luck. I am looking for a WATERPROOF not water resistant layout blind that would be able to sit in standing water. Every blind I've looked at online has been wayyyy out of my price range. Does anyone know of a cheaper brand of blinds like this or am I going to have to spend that much money on a layout blind? Also does anyone have any good ideas on making my own layout blind that can sit in standing water? Thanks!

Not sure what your price range is but the Cabela's Ultimate comes to mind. I've never used this blind so I can speak how waterproof it actually is though. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Cabelas-Northern-Flight-Ultimate-Layout-Blind/1230334.uts
People also put their blind in a sled or a layout blind tub. You aren't gonna be hunting the middle of a lake but it can probably get you up to 10 inches of water depending on what you get.

I have been looking at that one and the redhead deluxe layout blind. The redhead is a bit less expensive but I feel like the cabelas one will last longer. Thanks yall!

I have a cabelas ultimate. 6" of water is about the max because the foot bag doesn't have a frame. I also have a drake stake out coffin style blind that will work in water up to a couple feet of water because it floats but I don't like using it in more than a foot deep.

Well. It's almost time for the holidays. Hunting is expensive enough as it is. He has a legitimate question. No need for negativity. I've hunted in a budget my entire life and have been very successful. Sometimes you have to think outside the box for what works for your particular situation and budget

I made a layout blind out of a jet-sled. Works great. Waterproof to a foot deep. Don't know if I will float in it or not. Sometimes its nice to be short.

Another option might be a cheap sit-in kayak.

I like that idea to use the cheap sit in kayak. A couple of saw cuts to the opening could allow you to lay down, and you can make an inexpensive flap door by weaving some grass or cat tails in and out of chicken wire.
