Anyone been hunting around Waco that's been seeing ducks? Seems like it's mostly still just local woodducks

One indicator pond is starting to get a few in. Otherwise, not a lot of movement that I've seen. Still a lot of water all over the place, too.

Been trying hard to find them but it just seems there are no ducks near Waco.

I lived in Waco for a few years, and I always wanted to hunt out that way...just managed dove hunts and drove back east in the piney woods to kill deer.

I've got more water with improved habitat than ever, andno ducks. We normally shoot 250-300 birds during the first few weeks of the season. This year---9.

I do have about 500 ringers on a 10 acre pond that are going to pay rent in the morning.

From what I can tell they are using I-35 as their landmark/guide. They are flying down on the East side of the freeway, and they are afraid to cross I-35.
