What have ya'll found to be the best way to get bulk brush for brushing up multiple blinds without paying an arm and a leg for grass from the box stores? I have cut down cedars and used the branches for brush in the past, but I am looking for something more "duck habitat" looking like palm, reeds, etc. Any advice? I have some blinds that are in areas with little natural cover, so I need to bring the cover in.

If you got plenty of cedars around, I would stick with that. Whatever is close. Otherwise you are just making more work, more cost, for yourself, and it all works the same.

This year I am using cattails from the property on the blind in the water. I also planted blind grass(mossy oak Biologic) in the front and sides. The back is hay. . The blind grass grows up to 6ft tall so I used hay grazer to brush in this blind because the leave blades are just as wide as the blind grass. Just need to finish the roof with cattails

I tried planting vines in potted plants this year. With the flood and not being home to water, they all died. I will try it again next year.

Well...if you have a story behind that pic, we've got to hear it!

A lot of local businesses will have palms around. They'll pay an arm and a let to have them trimmed each fall and then another arm and leg to have it hauled off. We usually find a way to help with the haul off. Only problem is it browns up pretty quick. We're thinking of following a tree trimming service around and asking for a trailer full of oak branches with lots of leaves. They'll hold those leaves pretty good till it hails or you get a good windstorm.

I've got around 18-20 4x4 grass mats and a few 12'x3' (I think that's the size) roll up mats if you want to buy them off of me.
