Low expectation this morning and ended up with a nice hunt. We were finally starting to see some more ducks last week and then the last few days they seemed to vanish. We didn't see many this morning but the ones there decoyed really really well. Perfect wind slightly over our left shoulder and had good cover for the layouts. I had to pick up at 8:30 to get to my daughters 5th birthday.

Thanks! It was the most efficient hunt of the season. Few ducks but we had something looking right. We didn't hear one other shot. We have been hearing at least 2 other groups of hunters the last few weekends. One group shot at 6:40 one clear morning. probably water swatted a bunch off a little tank.

Damn. Nothing moved it was too dark until 7:10 today. I hunted 20 minutes had to roll. Definitely left a few out there today. Hunting my place near Cedar Creek lake tomorrow. About 50 on it tonight- mallards cans and reds. Last week counted close to 500 on it. Didn't see ringers today. Hopefully "good" divers tomorrow, few mallards and greys. Haven't seen too many wigeon here YTD. Typically late w Pintails south of 20. See what happens. I can sleep until 6:20 all set up

Easy limit this AM. Red heads , cans, grey ducks. Done by 8- back in Dallas - decoyed beautifully

Going in blind in the morning. Hunted it last weekend and it was covered up. I scouted it a few days ago and had only a handful on it. I hope this cold front brought in new birds.

Think I have too much water in one of my holes and around me today. Just had EVERYTHING work in. 2 Gaddies today landed 20 feet from blind- so close I could hear every flicker of wind thru their approach feet down. They landed 3 feet from the blind with their forward momentum
