Our family has 250ac located 15min from dowtown mcallen, 1.5 hr from laredo, 30 min from harlingen, on the river.
Its usually good dove hunting, but if there is enough interest, id start raising quail and possibly phesants for members. There will be a small range; (2) 100/200 yd rifle lane and (2) pistol lanes. Slowly i would rennovate one of the houses to serve as a club house with kitchen so guys could come hunt morning/afternoon and watch the game or have a beer and bbq in afternoon. I didnt plant sunflower this year, but if this gets off the ground it'll be done every year. In addition, members would have access to train dogs and have birds available. The goal would be to have a professional trainer be part of the organization to offer classes and individual training. possibly hog, predator, and javalina hunts on the premises will be available with membership. Have no idea on costs or number of spots.
I have contacted quail and phesants forever and they have been very helpful and a great resource so far.
Pm me or contact me if interested. Also id like anyones opinions or thoughts to my idea.

Also id like anyones opinions or thoughts to my idea. Could be good, could be bad, all depends on how you run it. If you don't over crowd, you are selective with your members, and offer good value to them, it could be good. If you are just trying to maximize short term profit, by selling too many memberships that are over priced and over crowded , it will suck, mainly for the members. They call this "slemping", I might be misspelling this term.

I totally agree guy. That would be a main concern number of members and affordability/value. I would want it to be profitable, but not looking for this to be my only source of income. Quail has gotten to be out of the budget for many down here in south texas. So it would be a great thing to offer to the RIGHT group of people.

250 acres isn't very much for a club.

If i run 4-5 fields at 50ac why is that not enough for wing shooting, please explain? The nice club i went to as a guest to a member in Colorado was 50ac fields for pheasant was roomy. Never felt unsafe. Id probably be at 50 members only so everyone could get their moneys worth
