Hunted w old lady today- dog that is.

Put 4 goose socks out behind blind and about a dozen out today- we didn't see a ton- good shooting today- mixed bag- also used comerant permit on a few of them. Few bonus doves- which were barreling in

Looks like this week should get better.

Nice wigeon!
We're you hoping for goose or do you put goose socks out to add visibility to your spread?

That Baldpate is really nice. Your pup looks like "Crap not another pic, I need a nap" up

Nice hunt. Does your dog retrieve cormorants?

We knocked down 4 of 7- they are pretty this time of year.

Geese for movement and visibility. Work much better than goose dekes IMO - don't ever shoot Canada's on this hole. Percentage of birds committing late season has skyrocketed. All u need is 3-5. Put them in front and behind blind as well.

The old lady does (in pic) she's 12

The 18 month old puppy at 28lbs does as well.

I have to keep log for TPWD- shown up on 3 hunts taken 13 total. Wonder if I should get comerant dekes. They are migratory but would give me something to do after season.

You must burn or bury them per regulations.

I would highly recommend getting a control permit for you landowners out there. You can also designate licensees (unlimited) for your friends that hunt with you. Must shoot non toxic. Not sure about plug but mine is always in anyway.

And yes there were some bigger groups of birds today and they decoyed better than they had all week. I had my daughter this morning and it was just too cold and we weren't setup right at all. With the recent rain the birds were trying to land in the flooded grass just past my dekes. I can setup over that way without being exposed on a bald tank damn and looking into the sun. Oh well at least it was better than the last two hunts.
