Went home to California this past week to finally defend my Masters Thesis- which I passed. I now have a Masters of Science in Wildlife Conservation.

While I was there I decided to get some hunting in with my dad and friends. Ended up doing pretty good. Got skunked 1 day, but shot atleast 1 bird the rest.

Shot my first ever Cinnamon teal

Shot 2 cacklers while I was there (didnt get a photo of second bird)

Shot my limit that included a drake canvasback (second one ever), 3 widgeon, a lesser scaup, and 2 goldeneyes (I was going for numbers, not quality).

all in all a good trip that got me a life bird, and a second canvasback. Now I need to hunt in TX, I have only shot 2 woodies here so far this year in a 1 hour hunt before work....

Congrats! BTW I think your "numbers" strap was a quality strap... different species, all ducks, all splashed the same.
