Howdy men, I am the new guy. I have never been on any other forum ever so I am a noob and if I am screwing this up please forgive me. I would love nothing more than to get in on any hog depredation hunting but I am the new guy and no one knows me. I am self-reliant, trustworthy, won't steal from you or drink your beer. I will close every gate behind me and know how to tell the difference between a cow and a hog. I use an AK-74 with no nightvision but I do have an unbelievably bright green LED weapon light. I just want to kill every one of these fur-covered cockroaches I see. And my wife is a nursing student so I don't have any money. Does anyone know someone who needs pigs gone or needs some help? I live in Garland and can make the drive to where the hunt is. Any good info or leads will be most appreciated.

welcome ta texasHF. Lots of people looking for hog hunts, most land is leased, some offer day hunts few just walk-on, never hurts ta ask. Unless ya know of someone with hog problems chances are limited. Am sure you have asked in surrounding area. If no replies, pm's, check out info in Public hunting section, cheapest hunts. Some ya can use your AK-47 each has own rules & regulations. $48.00 permit. Best wishes.

Most people in Texas look at hog hunting as a business unless you are well known to the locals and they know they can trust you.

After going out so many times I made the trip to Richland Creek WMA South Unit and got one. Dropped it like a bad habit.

Might try the local feed store or cafe where the local ranchers hang out. Invest some time and get to know a few of them. Offer to do a little work for them in trade for getting to hunt. Good way to work around the “no money “ issue. 2cents

Oh, and welcome

Try your local sale barn. Almost everyone there will be a land owner. Our sale barn has a bulletin board where you can post stuff like that.

Welcome to the forum ! One of the biggest problems with hog hunting is the fact that they are so inconsistent on most places. If you don't own or lease, that puts you at a disadvantage as far as hog encounters. Even when you do own property, the hogs are sometimes here today and gone tomorrow. Unfortunately, they just won't stay gone.

Very true. They disappear for weeks at a time on our place
