The area I hunt has been closed due to training for a month and I've been dying to get out there. It finally opened up today and 5 min after the feeder went off momma came in with 8 piglets, I shot momma and the piglets ran off but came back about 5 min later and I shot one of them. I got out of the stand and drug them away from the feeder and about 20 min later another small group came in and I blasted another one. I've got tons of hogs at this feeder all thruout the day and I'm about to give them a real good education on why they should avoid my feeder. By the way I am shooting my grandpa's 870 Wingmaster with a rifled barrel and that 12 gauge Hornady SST does a number on a hog

Momma and piglet

All 3

Still got work to do

Nice work bud!

A real hunter never returns empty handed. Spending time in the wilderness temporarily satifies the soul, but leaves us longing for more.

I'm in the blind now and it's hotter than hell but just seen a small group of hogs behind the feeder in the cedar. Feeder goes off in 2 min and I'm feeling lucky

I hope you have a shaded blind, ours are like hunting in an attic.
So I am hunting from the back porch.
Good luck.

So I stalked up to one of my feeders about 615 feeder goes off at 630 pm. Sat there until 645 and though screw this im gonna try another feeder, I sat at this one two days in a row from 6pm to midnight so it was time to change things up. I headed to my other feeder which hasn't had much hog activity except for a large boar that's been coming in real late always in the dark. Well I don't have a stand yet at this feeder so I just sat in a chair downwind of where I thought he would come from and about 15 min before dark I spot movement to my left and then it disappeared I got the shotgun to my shoulder and wait d for him to exit the cedar and then he did. 50 yd shot to the shoulder with a 300 gr 12 gauge SST slug. He dropped and the rest is history. I measured the chest and it came out to 44 inches which supposedly equates to 240 lbs and I believe it bc it took some muscle to get him in the truck myself.

Good job Sap! Glad to see you're getting out and having some fun. Did you hurt anything loading that dang thing by yourself?

nah it wasn't too bad. I got a good method to do it. Just put a rope around its neck get on the tailgate reach down low as I can and basically deadlift the hog into the truck bed. Getting the head and shoulders onto the tailgate is the hard part the rest is easy. I think I could prob get a 300-350 lb hog in the bed myself I would think.
