I had problems last season with the Armasight XLR-IR850 long range IR illuminator that came with my Spear ID gen 2 N/V rifle scope. It slipped my mind so I forgot to send it back to get fixed. Then before I shipped it out to Armasight to be fixed or replaced, the thing junked out on me and would not even turn on. It was washing out on every setting and even with the beam fully tightened so I put up a post asking if anybody else had problems with this IR illuminator since I am new to using the Armasight set up and just got it last winter. He suggested checking out a couple of different IR's that he uses so I ordered one that he suggested and it works great. It was also a lot cheaper price than most that I was looking at to have as a back up when hunting. I ordered the Evolva T20 38mm IR illuminator with the battery, charger and tail cap pressure switch off of Amazon for $54.99 with Prime shipping. It has an adjustable beam in the front, a high and low setting and the tail cap pressure switch has a high/low and momentary setting. I tried it out last night and it works awesome. Definitely worth buying and I want to say thanks again to Vern1 for taking the time to reply and sharing which IR illuminators have worked for him.

Lmao. It's tempting but I am having to slow it down or I am going to have to buy another safe that I can not afford right now. I have to focus on buying a milling machine and lathe right now.

Nice!
And you are welcome, Sir!
I love it when a plan comes together.

I've been chasing pigs for a long, long time and try to pass down the information I have learned by trial and error.
I will post what works and what doesn't work in my opinion and give reasons/results.

As for the 458 Socom, I parked it and went back to my tried and true 6.8s with ARP barrels.
I loved how the 458 killed pigs but cried every time I lost a piece of brass!
The final nail in the 458 coffin was how it treated optics, especially NV!

Cheers,
Vern1
