I am going to try to still hunt pigs during the day with a carraway call. Will be towards the middle of June. Anyone try this. We are headed to a area that will be scouted before hand for fresh tracks/ sign. Then try to slowly get close In thick cover carrying 12 guage w buckshot

I am sure Carraway makes fine calls, but I would suggest googling hog zombies on Youtube and look at Glenn Guess' talk on calling hogs. Hogs have a language of their own. The problem some hunters get into trying to call hogs is using calls that are less likely to bring in hogs and may actually repel them.

After watching a video of a guy on Facebook shoot a boar in the shoulder with buckshot from very close range, I am not sure I would not rather a .22. From extremely close range, the buckshot failed to penetrate the shield. Seriously, go with slugs. Granted, it was a big boar, but that is what you may find.
