My wife and I took off to Cisco Friday afternoon to do some Turkey Hunting this weekend. Got to the lease about 8:30pm , unloaded and broke out the Can-AM somewhere around 9:30 to go check feeders & stands that we would be hunting Saturday morning & sprinkle some corn around. I grabbed a Ruger SR1911/45ACP & wife grabbed her Beretta 92/9mm and we hit the trail. We got about 3 miles down the main lease road and ran into a Sounder of 6 Pigs. Hit the Brakes and grabbed a light and told the wife to do the same, Looked like we were doing a Felony stop on these pigs. We lit them up with the lights & I started the Assault with my .45Acp after the first shot there were pigs going every which direction. I stayed on the closest Target and put 3 round's in a small Boar , hit him back /middle /Front then used up the rest of my clip on a few Texas Heart shots on some of the bigger pigs. There probably a couple of Pigs with extra .45cal poop shoots now. About the time I am running my .45ACP dry(Not carrying any extra clips) I hear my wife's 9mm hammering on the other side of the SXS. So I spun around with my light and helped light up a fairly Big Pig that she was working on . It had cut off to the right and running back toward us, she had to have hit that pig at least 3-4 times, you could see it react when it was hit but it didn't seem to slow it down all that much. That was a blast and my first pig taken entirely with a pistol. Can't say it was my best shooting I have ever done with a pistol but the .45 got the job done. The outcome of this encounter, it is going to cost me a new pistol for the wife - she is done with the 9mm. It was the 2nd time she had lit up a pig with that same gun only to have it spin back toward her and not be able to close the deal. Not sure exactly what it will be as my full size 45 is a tad big for her hands. When we got back to camp some of the other hunter's were asking what the heck were ya'll shooting at? Sounded Like the shootout at the OK Corral. We told them we were just taking out some of the trash on the lease.

I prefer .40S&W or .45ACP......just never cared much for 9mm......
