Had me a metal 55 gal "pig barrel" chained up to a T post. drilled hole in bottom of barrel, eyebolt with washers both sides, quick link attached to eyebolt, then swivel, another quicklink, chain.....T Post..... The set up survived all fall without incident.

Then, was at the lease over the christmas break... pig barrel gone! everthing was there up to quicklink.. meaning they must have somehow opened up the eyebolt and took off with barrel. We scoured the area in a several hundred yard radius and never found it.. Checking game camera and it was there at 8:42 one evening and by 9:00 was MIA.... Those sorry dogs! lol...

Installed new barrel and re-corned area.. hope to catch the culprits lol

On the brighter side.. took the wife out for her first night hunt New Years Eve at another location on the lease and she got her first night kill. Will post that story on a new thread.

Sounds to me like you may have some two-legged pigs working in your area. I can't see any way even a large sounder of hogs could open eyebolts and make a 55 gallon barrel disappear into the night. . .

Terminate them with extreme prejudice!
