Anybody ever dealt with this? I'm trying all the stretching and iceing I can do.

Stretch and Ice only go so far; if it's bad, you probably need to immobilize it and turn it off for a few weeks...

Icing is not necessarily a good thing. Heat before exercise, ice afterwards. Buy new shoes, don't cheap out, get good shoes with good support. I usually go with Brooks or Asics running shoes. They have these plantar fasciitis socks on Amazon that you can wear at night to contract your plantar fascia. They really help for the early morning pain. Take some time off from heavy use of your feet for a few weeks for them to heal. Massage or have your wife massage your achilles and calf area for a few nights. Good luck.

Best thing I have found is stretching your feet before getting out of bed in the morning.

If you start walking about 30 minutes daily that seemed to help me also

Some one mention freezing a bottle of water and roll you feet on it, I haven't tried it yet but sounds good

I soak my feet in Epsom salt some evenings when I have had a long hard day at work, and that helps me.

Anyone tried reflexology? I get at least once and sometimes twice a month. Along with using a frozen water bottle and a rubber band for stretching works pretty well for me. I also wear tennis shoes with Protalus inserts (best and most comfortable I've found). Have a pair of Brooks running shoes on order. There's been a couple of times I had to get the shot, but try to do everything I can to avoid it

I have done the exercises, the stretches and bought about 1000 bucks (no kidding) of Hoka ones. Bought all the best inserts, I have had cortisone shots, frozen bottles of water, soaking in Epson salt, massages after massages. I still fight it everyday and it has been almost a year now.

I got it pretty bad when I started working out again. The main thing was just getting off your feet and not staining them. I had also been using an older pair of shoes, and I bought a new pair with some insoles with support. That helped. My son found a Lacrosse ball that I was using as a foot massage ball and I would roll my foot on. It worked very well. The massage ball helped the most. I would roll it on my foot while watching TV or when I was seated. I did it multiple times a day.

There is also a laser treatment you can do. A good friend of mine is the rep for the company that makes the laser. He treated my foot multiple times, and it eliminates the pain for a short period. It also increases the blood flow to help heal it quicker. I did notice a decrease in pain with the laser.

Go to doctor, get a script for physical therapy and iontophoresis. Have them use Iontopatch. Thank me.

I had a round of it a few years ago and a friend of mine told me about a brace/ splint that she got of Amazon. You wear it at night and it basically keeps your foot bent with your toes pointing towards the ceiling. It takes the pressure of the tendon if I understand correctly. I wore for about two weeks and I have never had an issue since.... Knock on wood. It cost me under $25 .I work 12 hour shifts and I'm on feet a lot. I wear good shoes, New Balance, Brooks. And asics.
Good luck

it's all about stretching your calves. I had it bad, but the stretching exercises the Dr gave me fixed it fairly quickly.

Man I have fought this multiple times in my life. The shots are a @$%^&. The best advise I got from a podiatrist was to always buy shoes that had wide soles between the heel and the ball of the foot. The second part of the advice has helped me the most and that is to change shoes often. Wear one pair in the morning, a different pair in the afternoon and a different pair when you get home from work. Since I started wearing multiple pairs of shoes during the day, I have not had to get any more shots!! Well worth it in my book.

Wally World has the Ace Plantar Fasciitis foot brace for $15 something (on line $), have worn it 2 nights so far, has helped tremendously. Also taking a round of steroids, that and daily stretching. Going to be a process.

/\ /\ What he said. + a tennis ball rolled underfoot with as much pressure as you can tolerate will provide some relief short term.

Have you been fitted into a pair of shoes for the way your feet hit the ground by someone who knows what they are doing? If not, find a reputable shoe store and get fitted into the right shoe. Then go buy last years model of the right shoe for half price online.

I suffered with it for about a year. I found your arches are very sensitive to correct or incorrect pressure. If you have high arches(I do) you need insoles with a matching high support. Flat feet, then no arch "hump" at all will be needed.

Wear a pair of really good shoes. If you're not in bed, you need shoes on your feet. I would take frozen 16 oz. bottles of water to work and roll them back and forth under my desk with the bad, bare foot.

Good luck

This, wear the brace at night and it really helps. Also the rolling ball, I use tennis balls and can actually stand on them now. If you are not where you can do either then find something to place under your toes to elevate them several inches and lean forward stretching your calf muscles. By the way the shots in the ball of your foot hurt but not as bad as the ones in your heel.
Good luck.

After suffering for about 2 months now, and the night brace not helping anymore, I ordered a pair of sneakers from ORTHOFEET. Just received them earlier today and my foot feels so much better already. Great shoes. I just ordered another pair of their Boat Shoes for work.
