I have CPM 20cv, VG10, ZDP-189 and CPM S90v. They all have their uses, but for an overall steel, the 20cv is my favorite for edge retention and corrosion resistance. That sucker stays sharp a long time!
I'm sure some of y'all have more examples to choose from than I do, so I'd like to hear what steel you prefer and why.
Haha yea I polished that thing for hours.

Plain ole Buck 420HC. Easy to get scary sharp, holds an edge well enough for about any daily task, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. If it gets lost or broken, it's not the end of the world.

I like 154cm/ats-34 or s30v. I like the combination of edge holding and still being fairly easy to sharpen.
