The Texas Knifemakers Guild is partnering with Silver Spur Gun Shows to host a knife show in Lubbock, TX October 8/9. We expect to have around 20 knifemakers in our own dedicated area of the gun show. You won't have to wade through beef jerky, AR parts, and scentsy warmers to find us. We are also looking for more makers to have tables. Contact me via PM and I'll forward you Kim's information and she can get you signed up.

TTT. If you're a knifemaker and have any inventory at all, we've still got tables available. If you're a "knife guy" and want to come by, we are having educational seminars both days at 2 p.m.
Saturday
Choosing a Custom Knife. What do you need to know when choosing a custom knife? This talk will cover a basic overview of steel types, handle materials, grind and edge types, and basic fit and finish. Developing the theme "Form follows function," this seminar will get you started on the choices available to customers in the custom knife world. Jason Fry, president of the Texas Knifemakers' Guild and national Knifemakers' Guild voting member.
Sunday
Choosing the Perfect Knife Steel. Knife steels have come a long way since the days when the choice was as simple as "carbon or stainless." With all the letters and numbers associated with steel types these days, how do you choose the right one for your knife? This talk will cover the basic properties and composition of carbon and stainless steels, look into the various properties and trade-offs associated with each steel type, and give an overview of some of the more common steels in custom knifemaking. Jason Fry, president of the Texas Knifemakers' Guild and national Knifemakers' Guild voting member.

Here's my spread of knives for the Silver Spur and Texas Knifemakers Guild show in Lubbock at the civic center this weekend. Hope to see some of you there.

Good looking knives, Mr. Fry. Especially the big one in the middle. Good luck to you at the show!

The show in Lubbock was good in many ways, but sales were terrible. Of the 9 makers that came, 6 of us didn't sell anything. I sold a few via facebook during the show, but had no sales otherwise. Looks like my mailing list is fixing to get some good deals, LOL. If you're interested, but not on my list, google can help you out.
