wore out my old Kershaw Onion, ready to step up a bit. I see Benchmade all the time and I'm looking at a Griptalin Jr. I like a serration and coated blade.

I need it light , under 3oz and VERY sharp.

This knife is for carry, not necessarily a fighting knife unless an unruly cardboard package attacks.

budget is $200+/-, what else should I look at???

If you like Kershaw, I saw a Kershaw Leek damascus assisted opening knife the other day. It was pretty nice. I want to get one, just didn't have the cash right then. Was super sharp out of the box, which surprised me. Most factory knives aren't that sharp from the factory.

You could buy 2 of them for $200

There are several brands made in China that fit the mentioned criteria...
But if you want it to hold a good edge, I would stick with Benchmade...JMO

I had a Benchmade once. The steel was too hard to sharpen. I couldn't put an edge on it with a stone.
