I've had a piece of 1095 in the shop for a long time since I haven't used any for years. Well I decided to go back to the basics and make a knife from it.
It's really a no frills knife, no mosaic pins, no file work, nothing fancy. Just an acid etched blade with a neat little hamon line from the differential heat treat and some stabilized spalted Box Elder scales with copper pins.
I still need to touch up the etching and make a sheath but I like it.

I can't put my finger on why, but that is a serious looking knife.

I understand the feeling. Don't know why but it appeals to me. I put it in the classifieds but if no one claims it it won't hurt my feelings to keep it.

I like it, and I bet it will cut a week into 9 days.
