We finally got picked and my 9 year old son is super excited. Has anyone ever hunted at Kerr? Which area did you hunt and were you successfully? Do you have any tips or advice? Did you see any exotics? Do they have blinds?

I hunted it about 20 years ago.. we were in the very back pasture.. pretty good size, had a good size ravine in it.. saw a lot of deer. They did have some blinds then, but for the most part we kinda walked around and still hunted.. Everyone there was so nice and helpful.. it is a really nice place in my opinion. Im sure it has changed a lot. We saw a lot of nice bucks but just couldn't ever get connected. A few Axis too.... I shot my first buck here with the help of one of the biologist.. Donnie Harmel.. great guy...

Good luck to you and your son!1 Cant wait to see pics..

Been a few years, but back when they had archery hunts, I got to go twice. Both in the same pasture, the Bobcat Pasture. Did see a BIG BUCK and heading my way, but wind shifted and he winded me about 60 yds out. They have some nice deer there.

I took my little brother there about 20 years ago when he got picked. I would try to find an area that you can see quite a ways and corn several spots or a long trail if possible. We finally did that on the last evening and saw a good shooter buck but couldn't get within range. If the timing is right rattling will also work.
