Finally got some free time, so I'll give y'all a run down on my hunt. First of all...the SKEETERS WERE CRAZY!!!! Fighting them for three days is no fun. I was told this was the worst year ever for them. You gotta have a lot of respect for the Indians.
First I arrived at the docks at about 10:30. Lots of boats. Something like 15 standby hunters. Drew numbers for blinds at noon after the safety brief. Headed out at 1:30. Blinds ran from black plastic blinds to alum stands with four walls. Guess which one I ended up with?lol sat in a plastic lawn chair in a blind with no roof and covered in bird poop. I guess it's better than the guy that found a 4' rattle snake under his blind.
When someone says the grass is tall there they are not kidding. You have to walk from the road to the blind down a mowed path. The rest of the area is covered in 4' tall grass. Seeing deer is a challenge. I got lucky and a doe stopped on the path to eat. Shot her at 3:00 so I had to wait till 7 to get picked up. Saw quite a few deer there. Nothing I wanted to shoot thou. Luckily she dropped right next to the road. Didn't have to drag her very far. Saw a lot of nice deer brought in that evening. All the way up to an 11 pointer that was over 120". I never saw anything that big.
They have a nice cleaning rack w/water. Bring your cooler with ice and your good.
Next morning went to the same stand and saw NOTHING. Only a couple of deer brought in. Went out that evening and got a small buck at a different stand.
Overall I thought it was well run operation. I had a great time. Things I would do different , bring a small pit to cook on. Bring a tarp to stand on at camp. The sand burrs are tuff! Also the fishing was pretty good. There you go that was my experience .im sure I left some stuff out. If you have any questions just hit me with them. I'll do what I can to answer. The main thing is, would I do it again?YOU BET!

Congrats on the hunt. Applied a few times but never drew. Too far for me to go standby.
