My 12yo son and I love chasing rabbits and skinning up a mess. But, our family ranch is too far to go to regularly. So what's good on the north side of Dallas?

Check this out, lots of land around Ray Roberts and out north of Bonham. Hunted both when they started the annual permit but stopped several years ago, not sure how good it is now.

Went out to Ray Bob one time and couldn't believe the amount of rabbits crossing the road in front of me. Couldn't drive to fast with the amount of them. It was the NE part.

I will Def reconnoiter Roy Rob then. I was planning on doing so for teal season anyway. Someone gave me some directions to a good spot (we'll see about that) but I wanted to know what I was in for before trying to find it at dawn some cool morning in the fall.

So, I'll take my son up there and do some scouting and rabbiting. It looks like their regs are not non-toxic shot only which makes it easy.

My yard. And every other yard on my street. I've easily got 15-20 running around just in my front yard and roses. Hell keeping them out of my asparagus beds and tomatoes in a PITA. Wasnt nearly as many when yotes were still common. Rabbit n squirrel populations have exploded since.

Fortunately, I enjoy a big plate of fried squirrel and fried rabbit. The yard is my backup larder JIC the lights go out.
