Only took 9 years of applying. Finally got picked for gun deer either sex. I used to duck hunt Choke often before the infamous Ducks Unlimited episode aired from there and people realized how awesome the duck hunting was. I saw some nice deer back then, probably 12 years back. I am really looking forward to this hunt. I've been drawn for two other hunts in the past, mule deer at black gap and alligator at mad island and they were both really good hunts. I hope this one is as well! Anyone ever hunted deer there before?

My buddy was just there a few weeks ago, the Ranger told him that most of the deer were living on the Island, i'm not sure why they would move out to the Island, that whole part of Texas is green green!

thanks for the input! The hunt is not until January after the rut. I hope that gets the moving around some.
